Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Building Sciences team as an Environmental Consultant supporting Asbestos-Containing Material (ACM) Inspections and Air Quality Monitoring. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting asbestos inspections, managing air monitoring activities during abatement projects, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual inspections of buildings and structures to locate suspect asbestos-containing materials. Collect representative bulk samples following all safety and regulatory procedures.
- Conduct inspections in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct air monitoring and clearance sampling during asbestos abatement projects.
- Calibrate and operate air sampling equipment, collect samples, and maintain accurate field documentation
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing inspection results, including sample locations, material condition assessments, and laboratory analysis summaries.
- Ensure all assessments are completed within project timelines and budget constraints.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices for environmental site assessments.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to support project objectives.
- Maintain a utilization target of 90%.
- Perform other project duties, as assigned.
Licenses:
- TDSHS Asbestos Inspector (Required)
- TDSHS Asbestos Consultant (Preferred)
- TDSHS Asbestos Air Monitoring Technician and Project Manager or AMT Project Monitor (Preferred)
- NIOSH 582 Training for Analysis by PCM (Preferred)
Qualifications:
- Current asbestos inspector and air monitoring technician certifications (as required by state)
- 1-3 years of field experience in Environmental Consulting, preferably Building Sciences.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in report writing and documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site assessments
Work Environment:
Field work is required; candidate must be comfortable working on active construction sites and in a variety of indoor/outdoor environments. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary depending on project needs.
