Project Overview
ESE staff were retained to plan and secure environmental permitting for an 18-mile long gas transmission line. The project started with the concept and continued until the line was complete and operational.
Approach
Staff used the concept plan to define the study area and evaluate natural resources and cultural resources. Federal, state, and local permits and approvals required for the project were identified and summarized in a single spreadsheet with timing and next steps.
The client used the initial planning documents to complete the pipeline design and avoid issues, where possible. Once the design was completed, ESE staff secured the environmental permits and conducted environmental inspections during construction to assist with compliance.
Benefits
The client used the initial assessment to complete their design and minimize environmental permitting needs. ESE staff were part of the project team from the concept stage through construction which helps deliver overall project performance.
